The US Open has me thinking…

Yesterday, as I meandered through crowds of kahki at the US Open, currently taking place at the legendary Torrey Pines Golf Course in San Diego, CA (La Jolla, to be exact), I couldn’t help but observe what people were wearing. Sure, there was an undeniably large number of poorly-fitting kahkis with mismatched plaid shirts and rugged baseball caps. But, as the day progressed, two things left me pleasantly surprised. First, there was a generous number of players donning golf gear in modern and aesthetically-appealing shapes, colors and styles and taylored so well that their outfits looked as though they were custom- made (and they likely were). Second, there was an undeniably well-dressed crowd of women at this event! OK, so they were few and far between, but they were there and they definitely made a statement.

As I made my way through the exclusive ocean-front clubhouse, I nearly stopped in my tracks at one woman’s attire. Her name was Samantha and her outfit was impeccable. Of course, I had to stop her and ask who she was wearing and she replied Adidas by Stella McCartney. I jumped online to investigate yesterday evening and I can proudly state I have a new fashion obsession. Perhaps this new inspiration will persuade me to pull out those golf clubs I received for my last birthday.

Golf no longer stands for “golf only, ladies forbidden,” and, thankfully, some lines are giving us a chance to embrace our stellar style even when playing sports. So… who are you wearing on the links? Send us your favorite golf lines!
