Yesterday was an absolutely enthralling day as our team had the pleasure of meeting with the mayor of Tijuana, Jorge Ramos, as well as an array of his staff. The team was hospitable, excited and, we might add, quite stylishly dressed!
The reason for our meeting was to discuss the designers that we are featuring from their region. Fuegorosa and Ivette Alaniz are both currently living and designing in Tijuana, while Sergio Alcala is living in Mexico City. Ximena Valero was born in Mexico City, raised in Tijuana and now lives in the US.
We are planning some wonderful events in Tijuana in the coming months, including a press conference at the Municipal Building on August 7 and a fashion show complete with DJs and cocktails at The Lobby in Tijuana on September 12. Also, we want to touch on current media buzz about Tijuana and its level of safety. There has been recent media coverage of the dangers of travelling to Tijuana and Mayor Ramos is doing everything in his power to reinforce his administration’s dedication to the safety of travelers.
