Mahogany Blues Swimwear is made in Dallas, TX by Whitney Bracey.  The Mahogany Blues Collection is for a free spirited, fun loving woman. A woman that doesn’t mind trying new things and has an eclectic style of fashion.  Bracey designs swimwear for every woman, from short and thin, too tall and curvy.  She is passionate about ensuring that women who wear her swimsuits feel comfortable, confident, and sexy in them regardless of shape.

Bracy grew up in Dallas, TX and began sewing at the young age of 7.  She is currently studying Fashion Design at the Texas Woman’s University.  Mahogany Blues Swimwear began in December 2011.  Bracey’s passion for swimwear began in 2006 while helping a friend start up her swimwear line, Reign Suit, which catered to women competing in Beauty pageants.  After working with Reign Suit, she began to make swimsuits just for fun.  Word began to spread about her swimsuits and they were in demand.  The high demand for her designs led her to create Mahogany Blues Swimwear.  What started as custom designed swimwear for her clients turned into larger production with different boutiques around Texas carrying her collections.  Bracey is excited to showcase her S/S 2014 collection on the west coast at Fashion Week San Diego 2013.

[custom_qoute style=”simple”]

I think that it’s a way for people to visually express themselves and how they feel. It’s almost like a lifestyle because it has so much more involved than just clothes.

[custom_qoute style=”single”]

I knew since I was little that fashion design was what I wanted to do.

[accordion_toggle title=”What’s your dream for your career?”]

[custom_qoute style=”single”]

To get my brand to work for itself and make its own money… so that I can relax and retire before 40!

[accordion_toggle title=”What do you absolutely love about being a fashion designer?”]

[custom_qoute style=”single”]

I love the fact that I make people happy and make them feel good about themselves because of what I’ve designed for them.

[accordion_toggle title=”What’s the philosophy of your brand?”]

[custom_qoute style=”single”]

Colossians 3:17 from the Bible: “And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” I am a creator for the Creator. That simply means that there is no limit to what I can achieve and each design will be given nothing but my best.
