Fashion Week San Diego loves the challenge of presenting jewelry on the runway and we couldn’t be more elated to welcome Yuwei Designs to the 2013 Runway Shows. With the perfect blend of sophistication and bohemian elements, these pieces are beautifully designed in San Diego and crafted in Bali.

Empowered.  Goddess.  Destiny.  Those words carry through in Yuwei Lee’s first jewelry collection debuting at Fashion Week San Diego 2013.  Her high-end women’s line features a signature bohemian yet sophisticated look with an organic and earthy feel.  Each piece is made from Sterling Silver with 18k Gold Plating and hand-crafted on the beautiful and sacred island of Bali.  Yuwei’s travels to Bali first began in 2011, where she was mystified by its beauty and simplicity.  These visits helped her unearth her deep desire to design.  A year ago, she gave in to that desire and Bali became a natural choice in where she wanted her jewelry made.  It’s no coincidence her debut collection is named Takdir, which means “destiny” in Bahasa.  Takdir is her true destiny and a reflection of the strength and beauty she wants every woman to feel when wearing her designs.  Looking forward to her 2014 collection, you will find tons of color from vibrant natural stones adding even more depth to her designs.

[custom_qoute style=”simple”]

Fashion is an extension of oneself, and a powerful and natural form of expression.  It can draw you in to the details about the wearer and the designer, without words ever being exchanged.

[accordion_toggle title=”How did you decide to pursue fashion as a career?”]

[custom_qoute style=”single”]

I’ve wanted to do this for so long, but it took many years of personal growth and maturity to develop the confidence to begin designing.  When that maturity and confidence finally came, I wasn’t willing to not try anymore.  I started a year ago, just with a pencil and piece of paper.  Once I tried, it felt natural.

[custom_qoute style=”single”]

That others will feel connected to my designs because of the way my jewelry makes them feel.  Empowered.  Beautiful.  Like a Goddess.

[accordion_toggle title=”What do you absolutely love about being a fashion designer?”]

[custom_qoute style=”single”]

For me, it’s the ultimate form of expression.  I get to create something based on how I see and interpret the world.  And when someone gets excited about what I’ve created – it’s an amazing feeling!

[accordion_toggle title=”What’s the philosophy of your brand?”]

[custom_qoute style=”single”]

I want to design and create a brand from an authentic place without fear or limitations of what others think.  That’s the only way for me to truly share a part of myself in each design.

[accordion_toggle title=”What about Fashion Week San Diego are you most excited about?”]

[custom_qoute style=”single”]

Being part of Fashion Week 2013 is a coming out party for me.  I hid my dream to be a designer from everyone, including myself, for almost my entire life.  Even now, not many people in my life know I’m designing!  So much love went into this and I’m ready to let others enjoy my work too.
