Dynamite Doll
“If you can elicit a smile from someone by what you’re wearing then you’ve done a good thing” says designer Annaiah Jones, owner and creator of Dynamite Doll designs. She emphatically states that the purpose of her designs is to foster full self -expression and bring joy to both the wearer and the admirer. She recalls, “I taught myself how to sew, with an old sewing machine from the 1960’s. I designed these pillows and sold them to my friends and family. I recently came across such a pillow….thankfully I’ve come a long way since then!,” she chuckles.
Dynamite Doll originally began as a stage name for Annaiah. As a singer, she was making pieces for herself when performing and then people started asking about them. She decided that her mission was to bring shimmer out in clothing. She seized the opportunity and partnered with the amazing seamstress Lily Le to start a collection. “When I create clothing I always think of them in the space of bringing aliveness to anyone, in any stage of life. The biggest joy I get,” Annaiah says, “Is seeing women wear my pieces and automatically start dancing!” Bringing her two passions together, the models will strut their stuff to an original song by Annaiah during Dynamite Doll’s runway show at Fashion Week San Diego.
Dynamite Doll is grateful to FWSD for keeping this reality alive and looks forward to debuting her 2016 Winter/Spring collection.
