FWSD18 Designer Spotlight | WearableArtOmaha

Posted on: February 16th, 2018

WearableArtOmaha is a clothing line that grew out of Michael Brewer’s simple desire to help his dad, Ken Brewer, sell more paintings.  Michael, a former attorney, entered the fashion world after shutting down his law practice in 2017 with no plan for the future (although this is working out for him, he does not recommend this approach to others).  His father Ken, a former high-level computer programmer, entered the art world after deciding he just wanted to paint.  Both Michael and Ken made their respective decisions around 40 years old, and with absolutely no experience in their respective new fields.

Launching in November 2017, WAO’s beautiful, bright, and fun items immediately turned heads in the fashion community. In this short amount of time, Michael Brewer has already been selected as a runway designer for Raw Envision in Omaha, NE, in January 2018, as an emerging designer at International Fashion Week Las Vegas in February 2018, and as an emerging designer at San Diego Fashion Week in October 2018.  Due to this extremely rapid beginning, Michael hopes to inspire those that wear WAO’s items, and he truly believes that if he can accomplish this, you too can accomplish anything you want.
