Meet the Designer, Brittany Grisham

Hello, I am Lady Grisham, founder and designer of Grisham Manor. I am a US Navy veteran with a love for romantic, vintage, and feminine fashion. I’ve always loved pink, pastels, bows, and pearls. I got my first sewing machine in 8th grade and from there I learned to sew and create. No spare sheets, curtains, or $1 fabric was safe from my creative yearning. After the service I went to college for Fashion marketing and management, there I learned a lot about the industry and some of the issues with fast fashion and the environment. That influenced my greener view on my fashion footprint. I already loved thrifted fashion but took it a step further learning how to alter and upcycle and reimagine clothes and textiles.  

That is why 50% of my collection is upcycled from thrifted goods, products from my boutique, and some items from an easily accessible brand to have continuity and the rest of the collection is low waste. I had custom fabric made in exactly the amount that I needed to make the garments. The inspiration of my collection was from paintings by Edgar Dega and Claude Monet, you can see that in the colors and textures. As for the brand I strive to design and source whimsical, chic, feminine, romantic pieces with vintage French influence. I also worked in the bridal industry for 6 years which also heavily influenced my style. I hope you enjoy my 2024 collection “Ballet in the Garden” and much more to come from Grisham Manor.
